Policy
One cookie only, to remember your language. Analytics run without cookies. No advertising trackers, nothing shared with third parties.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website, then sent back to the server with every page request. A site can also save information in the browser's local storage: the idea is similar, but that data stays on your device and is never sent to the server.
2. What this site stores
One functional cookie
The site sets a single cookie, named NEXT_LOCALE. It remembers the language you picked so pages are shown to you in French or English. It holds no personal identifier and expires when you close your browser. Your light or dark theme preference is kept in the browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so it never leaves your device.
Cookie-free analytics
Site traffic is measured with Plausible Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores no personal data. Statistics are aggregated: pages viewed, referring page, country, device type. No identifier makes it possible to recognise you from one visit to the next, or to follow you across other sites. No data is sold or used for advertising.
3. Retention period
The language cookie disappears when you close your browser. The theme preference stays in local storage until you clear the site's data. Traffic statistics are kept in an aggregated form that is tied to no identifiable visitor.
4. Your choices
No consent banner is shown: the language cookie is strictly necessary for the site to work, and analytics that use neither cookies nor personal data fall within the exemptions set out by the CNIL, the French data protection authority. You stay in control at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
- Firefox: Options → Privacy → Cookies
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy
- Edge: Settings → Privacy → Cookies
The analytics script can also be blocked by any content blocker, with no effect on your browsing. Deleting the language cookie is harmless: the site will simply follow the language of the address you visit.
