- PIMProduct Information Management
- A system that centralizes product data (titles, descriptions, attributes, media, prices, stock) and distributes it across every sales channel (e-commerce, marketplaces, catalogs). Becomes necessary from 1,000 SKUs or 2 different supplier sources. Learn more →
- ERPEnterprise Resource Planning
- Integrated software for managing business processes (purchasing, sales, inventory, accounting, HR). Complementary to a PIM: the ERP handles transactions, the PIM handles product data and its distribution.
- DAMDigital Asset Management
- Management of media files (images, videos, technical documents) with metadata, versions and workflows. Pixee PIM includes a DAM module (Asset Library).
- EAN / GTINEuropean Article Number / Global Trade Item Number
- International 13-digit standard barcode (EAN-13) that uniquely identifies a product. GTIN is the generic term. Pixee PIM automatically validates EANs via checksum and maps them to Amazon ASINs (Code2ASIN).
- ASINAmazon Standard Identification Number
- Unique 10-character Amazon identifier assigned to every product on the platform. Pixee PIM's Code2ASIN module automates the creation of new ASINs and EAN ↔ ASIN matching.
- SKUStock Keeping Unit
- Unique internal reference for a product in a company's management system. A product can have several SKUs (per variant: size, color, packaging).
- REACHRegistration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals
- European regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 requiring the registration and evaluation of chemical substances. Enhanced documentation requirements for distributors — handled in the Pixee PIM Compliance module.
- RoHSRestriction of Hazardous Substances
- European Directive 2011/65/EU restricting the use of 10 hazardous substances (lead, mercury, cadmium…) in electrical and electronic equipment. Compliant declarations required by buyers.
- DPPDigital Product Passport
- Digital product passport mandated by the EU Ecodesign Regulation 2024/1781. Rolled out progressively from 2026 to 2030 for batteries, textiles, electronics and packaging. - WEEEWaste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
- European Directive 2012/19/EU on the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Imposes eco-contributions and specific marking.
- EPRELEuropean Product Registry for Energy Labelling
- European database listing products subject to energy labelling (appliances, TVs, light bulbs). The EPREL ID has been mandatory in online listings since 2021. Learn more →
- GDSNGlobal Data Synchronization Network
- International network for product data synchronization operated by GS1. Used by large retailers (Carrefour, Leclerc, Intermarché) to receive supplier product sheets. Connection via a data pool (e.g. Agena3000). Learn more →
- GS1
- International organization maintaining product identification standards (EAN/GTIN, GLN, GDSN). Assigns manufacturer prefixes and certifies data pools.
- BYOKBring Your Own Key

- FTP / SFTPFile Transfer Protocol / Secure File Transfer Protocol
- File transfer protocol between servers. B2B suppliers typically drop their CSV/XML catalogs on an FTP/SFTP server that the PIM polls at regular intervals. Learn more →
- EDI PRICATElectronic Data Interchange — Price Catalogue
- Standardized EDIFACT message for exchanging price catalogs between suppliers and distributors. Widely used in French and European B2B distribution.
- MAPMinimum Advertised Price

- LLMLarge Language Model
- Artificial intelligence model trained on very large text corpora (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, Mistral…). Used to generate product descriptions, SEO titles and technical attributes in the AI enrichment pipeline.
