Solution · Importers

The PIM that turns supplier PDFs into EU-compliant catalog data.

AI Vision extracts compliance fields from supplier documents. DeepL translates across 6+ EU markets. DPP-ready schema, OVH France hosting, EU regulatory calendar baked in.

The importer challenges

Non-EU supplier data, EU regulations

Your suppliers in China, India, Vietnam, Turkey ship technical sheets in PDF format with their own conventions. EU regulators (REACH, RoHS, CE, WEEE, DPP) require structured, traceable data — and you're the responsible party.

Language barriers

Supplier descriptions arrive in English (best case) or in the supplier's local language. To sell across 6+ European markets, you need clean translations in FR, DE, ES, IT, NL — at scale, not by hand.

Provenance and traceability

Customs, anti-counterfeiting, sustainability reporting — every line of data needs a traceable origin. Which supplier shipped this EAN? When? With which certificate? You need an audit trail.

DPP deadlines coming fast

Batteries 2027, textiles 2027-2030, electronics 2028. If your supplier doesn't generate the Digital Product Passport, you become responsible. Data must live somewhere structured before the deadline hits.

How PixeePIM answers

Document Intelligence — AI Vision PDF extraction

Upload supplier PDFs (certificates, technical sheets, test reports). GPT-4o Vision extracts REACH SVHC declarations, RoHS test results, CE conformity statements, energy labels — into structured fields ready for EU compliance audits.

Multilingual translation pipeline

DeepL BYOK integration for production-grade EU language translations. Per-product translation table with provider (DeepL/OpenAI), status, quality score. Batch translation across the entire catalog, monitored.

EU compliance dashboard

Per-product scoring on REACH, RoHS, CE, WEEE, Carbon Footprint, Planet Score. Severity rules (blocking vs warning), CSV export of violations, supplier-side declaration tracking with expiry alerts.

Supplier provenance tracking

Every product attribute keeps a provenance pointer: which supplier shipped this data, on which import, when. Conflicts between suppliers are logged with timestamps. Full audit trail for customs and compliance.

DPP-ready data structure

Product schema includes the EU Digital Product Passport fields before they become mandatory: composition, origin, repair/recycle instructions, energy class. When the deadline hits, you flip a switch — you don't migrate.

OVH hosting in France — EU sovereignty

100% hosted in France on OVH. No CLOUD Act exposure, native RGPD compliance, OVH SecNumCloud-track infrastructure. Your supplier data and trade secrets stay in EU jurisdiction.

Typical importer profiles

Asian goods importer (~30k SKUs)

Suppliers in China, Vietnam, India. Heavy reliance on AI Vision to extract CE/RoHS from non-standard PDFs. Multilingual descriptions needed for Amazon EU. PixeePIM Growth or Scale plan.

Specialty importer (organic, premium)

10-20 European suppliers, smaller catalog (~5k SKUs), heavy emphasis on REACH/Planet Score compliance and Carbon Footprint reporting for ESG. Starter or Growth plan covers it.

Pan-European distributor-importer

Imports goods, distributes across 6+ EU markets via Amazon EU + Mirakl marketplaces + Shopify. Multilingual translation pipeline + multi-channel publishing critical. Scale or Enterprise plan.

Why importers need a PIM with first-class EU compliance

Importers carry a regulatory burden that brand owners typically don't face: when your Chinese supplier doesn't generate a REACH SVHC declaration, you become responsible for sourcing the equivalent data. When the EU Digital Product Passport rolls out for textiles or electronics, the importer of record is the one regulators ask. "My supplier didn't provide it" is not a valid answer.

A PIM designed for brand owners assumes the data is internal and clean. A PIM for importers has to assume the data is external, partial, and in formats you didn't choose. The difference shows up everywhere: PDF extraction matters more, provenance tracking matters more, translation quality matters more, compliance scoring matters more.

PixeePIM was built with this asymmetry in mind. Document Intelligence pulls the data out of supplier PDFs, the schema accommodates partial fields, the compliance module knows the EU regulatory calendar. When a regulator audits, you have an answer.
